Please join your WMEPC for a live panel discussion featuring three local professionals, Catherine Jacobs of Warner, Norcross + Judd; Katie Aguilar of Rhodes McKee; and Elizabeth Eardley of Cross Roads Eldercare Options, as we discuss various planning items related to serving senior clients. The panel will offer insights into the various types of benefits individuals may be eligible for, along with the appropriate mechanisms to ensure a successful overall plan. Additionally, the panel will provide insight into the practical side of selecting care facilities. As our population continues to age, the elder law space is becoming increasingly important.

At Warner Norcross + Judd, attorney Catherine Jacobs provides comprehensive estate and succession planning for individuals, families and businesses. During her career, Catherine has helped families plan for their future, provided planning services for the elderly in the areas of Medicaid qualification, and assisted clients with loved ones with special needs. As a well-respected advocate with a passion for the rights of the disabled, Catherine finds it deeply rewarding to work with the families of older adults who have health issues and strategize to get them the level of care they need, whether that’s at home, in an assisted living community or in a skilled nursing community.
Elizabeth Eardley is the Founder and President of Crossroads Eldercare Options, a 13-year-old eldercare advising agency that helps senior and their families – completely free of charge – understand options for senior housing, home care, and resources. With two decades in the eldercare industry and experience assisting thousands of families, Elizabeth has navigated every possible situation. Elizabeth is a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids and looks forward to continuing making an impact in the West Michigan community. “
At Rhodes McKee, attorney Katie Aguilar works alongside seniors and their families to navigate the complex world of aging and long-term care. She assists with planning and applying for Medicaid and assessing the need for Veteran’s Aid and Attendance benefits. Katie is passionate about planning and advocating for individuals with special needs, including creating and administering Special Needs Trusts. In addition, she assists families in developing a succession plan for their cottages, lakeshore properties, and second homes that honors their family values, while minimizing tax consequences.
